DR. BARBARA MURPHY

Barbara Murphy, Psy.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Novato, in the San Francisco Bay Area. With her own personal experience of recovery, she has developed a strong passion for working with individuals and their families struggling with the eating disorder. She began with taking part in the start-up of Quest, an Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program in 2001, and then managed the program for several years. Dr. Murphy also worked as a weekly group facilitator for Beyond Hunger for eight years, and for a weekly Saturday drop in group for the Petaluma HealthCare District for over thirteen years. This professional line of work has leveraged her experience working with families, adolescents, and groups, which she finds to be especially fulfilling. Barbara's passion, commitment, and personal relationship with her work has helped her develop strong resources for those suffering from the disorder that affects so many around the world.
